I wasn't dumping on you. I was just pointing out that around the country, millions of vehicles go 'unregistered' every year and millions more go without insurance.

There could be legit reasons... the car was sent to a scrap yard, the car was put in storage, or they could be people who just don't register and/or insure.

Those latter are the people the cops don't catch unless they have some reason to pull them over or until there is a tragedy like this one.
