Actually, this is one of the reasons the liberal dumbasses claim making illegal aliens legal “helps” the American economy. They think these new workers will pour millions of dollars into the SS coffers with them working legally. A couple of problems with their theory,
First, there are no jobs, or at least not enough for 5 million
Secondly, besides the lower wages employers get by hiring illegals off the books, they also don't have to pay taxes, workers comp, etc on the illegal employees. You think now they are legal these employers are going to bring them on legally and pay the min wages, plus all of the other cost of having an employee? Why do that when you can hire Jose who doesn't get legal status.
Bottom line this will only protect them from deportation. Actually, it may have a negative effect for the illegal, once they are legal the employer who was paying them may not keep them to avoid the new cost of their legal employee.

Possible. I just keep feeling for the millions of unskilled workers in this country. The illegals will likely not complain if their minimum wage jobs ‘pay less than before’ (because the employer must now pay the costs associated with legalization).
