So true - especially in your line of work. I would pay extra to have an American do the work!
What? I didn’t know you were going to be Mrs. Santa!
How cool is that?!!! We must see photos later!
You are lucky - I live in an area where people pay illegals to do their lawns then say, “no I pay an American company”...to ease their guilt
We are just individual subs, we can undercut anyone else’s rates, and be legal, too-we don’t work outside the area where we live and know everyone, and the city is too far to go for work because of the gas for our SUV’s and pickup trucks. Only hiring neighbors/friends and their teen and adult kids is good business and keeps the money in our community-times are hard, and hiring outsiders, especially illegals would take money from those neighbors and friends.
This area is becoming more closed-even repairs are done by companies located within the county-there is a large barter system taking shape-it is obvious that people are at least halfway planning to go galt, like I am...
Wow - if my daughter didn’t live so close by now I would consider a move that direction...
There are less than 4000 people within 20 miles in any direction-if the owner of a business had an illegal worker, neighbors would be calling the green van faster than ants at a picnic-and they would be treated to an Amish style shunning.
Developers were set to rape this area with overbuilding about 20 years ago, but the tourist businesses, farmers, ranchers and county commissioners brought the state’s natural resource people in with a study that said that would have a negative impact on agriculture/food production, and a moratorium on all development-including individual dwellings-was put in place, where it remains.
The snowbird subdivisions, condos and other tourist businesses that were here before Obama ruined the economy sit empty and falling apart now-no snowbirds=no money...
Last year a slick developer tried to sell a hotel and shopping complex and gated enclave to the county seat, but they had TNRCC send a representative to show the negative environmental and financial impact on our natural resources and quality of life. I heard that developer offered a bribe to some town official, and found a trash can of manure in the bed of his truck when he left-no one has suggested developing anything since...
OK, I take back everything I said about the rabid Toronto fans at our arena
(Well, not EVERYTHING ;-)
Yeah. I wonder if they can use it for weenie roasts in the summertime. LOL
Need a picture!
Sounds better and better with every descriptive word.
Mrs. Santa will be serving cookies.
How many of us (other than xshub who grew up listening to hockey on Canadian radio stations) could do the same for them? That was very cool!
Xsmen are at the frozen dome : ) xs girls and I went to see Mockingjay. There was a girl in it that looked so familiar and I couldn’t place her, neither of the girls recognized her then it finally came to me — she played Ann Boleyn in the Tudors!
We know their anthem from hockey so I am betting our fans could do it too.
Our HS won their 3rd playoff game tonight! Go Raptors!
Good for them!
The Jayhawks bowed out in the quarterfinals two weeks ago. They played even through 3 quarters, but fell behind in the 4th. The team we lost to took the mighty Bears to OT last week.
The Bears won the WPIAL title yesterday. I expect them to win the state title as well. They’ve only lost twice since 2008.
