Yikes! That’s terrible news. That put Tomas Vokoun on the shelf for a season, and likely ended his career.

Thanks, no sweat off my brow though. Yesterday, our neighbor’s towing service came over as a courtesy (and for $20), clearing our small driveway of the 30”+ in just a few swipes. Things have quieted down quite a bit since then.

So, my dear wife decides to go out today and take care of the minor fresh-fall & drifting today (~8”), when a couple of enterprising teens pass by and offer to clear the driveway – at the non-negotiable price of $50…

The pleading and the begging
We hear more of every day
May be iatrogenic-and used
In the ultimate clever way

By all who market products
And see the sales declining-
They market to the gullible
To get them to start whining

They need drugs and scooters-
They must have it all today
They are broke and helpless-
Those who are taxed must pay...

Maybe it is just me, but I’m tired of seeing the sales commercials for everything in the private and public sector from drugs to EBT cards being hawked to the gullible among us with the promise that taxpayers will foot the bill because they are really a helpless victim of-something...

The neighborhood kids charge my sister $20 and although they aren’t teenagers yet, at least 3-4 attack at once and get it done quickly.

Yeah, Matta had some sort of cancer, Letang with his stroke.

Of course this type of thing around the franchise is nothing new.

Speaking of hockey, our team had a good game last night but they broke the heart/mind of the Leafs biggest fan.

If we are on the slide into an ice age and it snows like it did in winter 30 years ago around here, local kids will have a new source of after-school revenue...

A++++
Really excellent job, and I agree with your sentiments completely. That “free scooter” ad has always annoyed me. It’s the complete opposite of the “can do” spirit that made this country great. JFK’s famous line at his Inauguration has gotten flipped into: “Ask not what you can do for your country, but what your country can do for you.” Lovely!

Price went from $0.67/inch to $6.25. Sounds like Obamacare numbers.

Thank you!

Profits must be really be down in everything from the drug industry to food stamps-there are even commercials with people crying on camera over everything from teeth to credit scores, like they are in imminent danger or something...

My parents taught me that only wusses cry in a public venue, never mind whining for someone to pay for your stuff makes you look lazy, but I guess that is not PC now...

Those in upstate NY need to consider their transportation: If they ain’t iatrogenically inclined, they need to be introjeep or intruckly involved in getting 4-wheel drives ...
