marking for later...
Wow is right. I saw a Russian spacecraft spectacularly burning across a very dark night sky as it re-entered the atmosphere while camping at 10,000 feet in the High Sierra back in 1969, also hundreds of meteors over the years, and a large meteoric fireball as it lit up our neighborhood with a roaring sound some 20 years ago, but nothing like that photo. Just “Wow!”
IMHO, it did not look anything like a nuke. No bright, fast initial flash. It looked more like a gas explosion, slow and cascading ignition.
Also, no shockwave was apparent.
A nuke would have been as bright as sunlight, not orange.
Color indicates the burning of a metal at more normal furnace temps, not a nuclear reaction.
I agree. This event was far too short-lived to be a nuclear weapon. The fireball would last for minutes.
You should see the women in Chelyabinsk.
Wow is right.
And all the local men are impotent from Vodka!
Still one of my all time favorite movies. “It’s a moral imperative!” “I want to see more of you around the lab - I’ll start putting on weight...” “Why are you wearing that toy on your head? - Because, if I wear it anywhere else, it chafes.” etc. etc.
Does every Russian driver have a dash cam?
It appears so.
I think it’s a law over there. ;)
I’ve heard that you have to have them over there because people will jump in front of your car and then sue you for big bucks.
Like this?
Это что вообще было?" Огненная вспышка в небе над Свердловской областью
Yes, there is a lot of fraud where false blame is made for auto accidents.
becoming very common in a lot of countries I bet
Francis Gary Powers’s ghost.
Yes. The police are corrupt, the highways are like the wild west, and the insurance companies demand proof of everything. So nearly every Russian driver, as I understand it, leaves a dash-cam running at all times to document any encounters with the police, accidents or criminals.
Yes, for self defense:
I’ve witnessed both Chelyabinsk one and this personally. First one was clearly a meteor and more impressive. Still figuring what was the latter.
~Francis Gary Powerss ghost.~
In fact Powers was shot only about a dozen miles away Southeast from the place there it is filmed.
