Possible borderline senility is not "Stupid".

Many, many people "intelligent" people are susceptible to scams.

No, they're not, but the red flags jump out so boldly and scream fraud at deafening levels. Simply, stupid. Senile?Does a senile person initiate and complete reverse mortgages? If one is cognizant enough to do that and not recognize the fraud, well, one gets the sh*tty end of the stick.
