Notes: Teams in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series will all run the same tire set-up at Homestead this week . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires that teams in all three series ran twice each at Texas this season . . . Sprint Cup teams also ran this tire set-up in race No. 1 of the Chase for the Sprint Cup at Chicagoland in September . . . this left-side tire code (D-4392) has been run by NASCAR teams at Homestead since 2010 . . . this is the first time these teams have run this right-side tire code (D-4618) at Homestead . . . this right-side employs Goodyear's multi-zone tread technology, which combines two distinct tread compounds on the same tire -- the outside 10 inches of the tread features a compound that is designed for grip, while the inside two inches of the tread is toughened to enhance durability on the part of the tire sees the most heat and takes the most abuse . . . this tire set-up was confirmed for Homestead at a Goodyear test at the track on September 9 . . . one team per Chase-qualified organization was allowed to participate, though no Chase-eligible driver was allowed to test . . . drivers that participated were Justin Allgaier (Hendrick), Ryan Blaney (Penske), Austin Dillon (Childress), Sam Hornish (Gibbs), Danica Patrick (Stewart-Haas), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Roush-Fenway) and Martin Truex Jr. (JTG-Daugherty) . . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Homestead . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire.
