I am so glad you had your camera with you that day!
Ive not spent much time at all outside.....the house..without it.
as a matter of fact...I was pointing out the very spot in the sky where I had seen the”eye in the clouds” image.... to a buddy....facing him while doing so...and voila there was ANOTHER similar “eye” in the clouds when I looked back to the spot I was pointing at.
somewhere..I have that photo as well.
a two in a million..sort of.
I will paint two wide stripes on a darker background and sign it for $39 instead of $39 million. PM me with orders. :-)
I should start carrying my camera again. The cell phone pictures don’t cut the mustard!
Totally, utterly, freaking INSANE!
Another beauty! Thank You! :-)
Its been reported for years that promoting Ugly “art” and forcing its acceptance..was one of the listed was a goals of the communist party USA.
Id have to say they acheved that one several years ago.
I agree, Abstract art is junk. It probably began when an artist was so upset because their painting was not going well that they began to throw the paint at the canvas. Then a moron came along and declared it was fabulous art.
I was in art school when I had to have carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand (pottery class did it).
While I was recovering from the surgery I signed up for an abstract class.
No problem........... I could do it with my left hand but it was still junk just like the other students paintings.
I got so disgusted with Painting Class that I HID OUT in the Pottery Studio! LOL!
Weaving and glass blowing were fun too.
Oops...I mean AUGUST 1963. it was a long time ago! :-)
That is emminently collectable and likely worth more dollars than the ROTHO messes...
Thank you.
I saw him at Otis Air Force Base on the Cape in August 1963. He had flown in because his mother was sick. I wonder if your old photo was from that same visit?
Your photo is exactly the way I remember seeing him. A shock of red hair! I was only nine.
My Aunt lived in Hyannis, and her mother was the chief cook at the compound. Her brother was the groundskeeper.
My dad was a professional Photographer who used a Speed graphic. He hated Polaroids, so this picture was taken with my Aunt’s camera.
Then I went back to the darkroom to assisting Dad with the huge negatives from the Speed Graphic. I thought it was marvelous that one could squeeze some nasty goo onto the film and wait a few minutes for a picture to develop itself! LOL!
It is very possible, as Otis is not far from Hyannis at all!
The color in the photo has stood up pretty well for 51 years.
We were at a “Thunderbirds” air show at Otis. Word began to circulate that JFK was coming in. We hung out long after the show was over, and sure enough, AirForceOne landed and then taxied towards us. I can still picture the American flag on the tail visible above a row of trees as it moved towards us. Then there he was, (I distinctly remember red hair, redder than I’d ever noticed in any photo). He was carrying a hat. He was known for not wearing hats, but it was a gift he had just received from a foreign dignitary. Best I can recollect it was a sudden, emergency visit cause Rose was sick. Do you happen to recall an Air Show just about the day you took that photo?
