I think international travel is far more prevelent amongst the younger generation. My daughter and SIL are”dinks” (double income no kids) and currently in Spain headed to Italy on a another European visit, the number of which I have lost count. When I was their age, a camping trip to the local lake was about it as it was all I could afford. I bet that they won’t have any better memories for their effort, however,

I agree. The younger gen does travel a lot more than we did (except for your Southeast Asian experience). A remote camping trip back in the 1960s was about all we could afford and we thought it was grand. Still have many fond memories of listening the hoot of an owl and coyotes howling while sitting around a crackling campfire.
