I downloaded the 10 Preview on a old laptop. Was great to see the start menu back. Can’t wait for next year when it’s released.

Was great to see the start menu back.

Still don't see the appeal of this, since I could care less about it. I launch 95% of all my Win apps from shortcuts on the desktop, and rarely use the Start Menu. The chiclets on the Metro interface are much the same, and I don't have a problem with them (better shortcuts really).

My beef with Windows 8 is the lack of windows (isn't that the name of the OS?), particularly those incredibly horrible windowless new style "apps" that take up the whole screen w/o any window frame. They hearken back to DOS days, and are absolutely ridiculous when you have one or two large screen monitors on a desktop. And their hideousness is further compounded by the "swipe in" rules from the sides of the screen, which are just stupid on a desktop with a mouse and no touch screen.
