When Louis Gossett, Jr. won his Oscar for An Officer and A Gentleman, an interviewer asked him about racism in Hollywood. He was asked if blacks would ever be truly equal. His response, “The black man will never attain equality until he loses his slave mentality.”

Louis Gossett, Jr was born here from Caribbean immigrant parents. So he can’t go on about his people being slaves here and getting into the reparations mindset many blacks have. Same mindset that they deserve X Y Z, are enritiled to them due the the history of white racism

Louis Gossett, Jr was a good actor
