Microsoft has a nasty habit of obsoleting hardware with their frequent system upgrades.
Well, for us Apple's pretty fast on the draw in forcing iOS software into upgrades that won't work on older mobile units. Most downloadables will not work on my kids' iPod touches (gen2) and our iMac on Snow Leopard can't run a lot of current stuff, even though the OS has only gone through minor changes.
But "Plays fer sure" from MS went REALLY obsolete. And the whol xbox DVD-HD was just a bad guess on MS' part, not really their fault.

Im thinking about fairly new scanners that will not work as soon as microsoft issues a new version of their op system because nobody eill uodate the drivers.
Newish computers stuck on old operating systems - the sucky vista. I ended up with two of them.
