What a retarded headline. The fact that these people still trout out this pathetic discredited trope only reinforces the perception that Apple’s user base are crackpot cultists.

Maybe Apple fans can urge MS to follow Apple’s universal genius in chiding Alabama for not being gay-friendly enough too.

Like moths drawn to the light, Apple haters are irresistibly attracted to any thread having to do with Apple. The Apple Haters NEED to hurl insults at Apple users and Apple products—they can’t help themselves.

I like Apple products just fine. There are times that it makes LOTS of sense to follow. Sometimes Apple does some of both. Intel based motherboards had USB before Mac devices, but Apple had the platform control to eliminate other ports (ADB, SCSI) to FORCE the peripheral makers to support USB, and the OS control to support it in a serious way with the iMac.

Apple wisely adopted PCI, as NUBUS (and various local bus flavors) weren't scalable. Apple also wisely followed and adopted Intel architecture.

Apple took the lead on Firewire, and like the later Thunderbolt, adoption was limited outside of the Apple community.

The list goes on and on, in BOTH directions. We should WANT all these companies to borrow each other technologies to make them work better, and to work together better.
