Pre-planning thread to bounce ideas around for venues and itinerary.
Info posted is tentative.
Date: TBD (May 2015?)
Yes.
When I got injured they couldn't find a first aid kit but they could find a "Don't Sue Us" document.
To hell with them.
We looked at this range year before last ~ they weren’t interested in talking to us.
Yeah, that place sucked.
I wonder if there is a semi-private range out west near that cool lodging place...
Go West young lady, Go West!
That place out West is daBomb!
I’ll give them a call tomorrow. Maybe we can do a September or October shoot.
We're too "special" for 'em?
Bummer,
Outside of private leases it looks like its a bunch of range nazis even in Tx.
Look for gun leases in Tx on AR15.com and places like that.
Some of the places we’ve been wouldn’t want us back.
Aransas was cool but range-owner guy seemed to think we were a problem.. and we’d been there twice.
I guess we’re special.
The directions are drive to New Mexico, take a u-turn and go five miles and it is on your right.
In other words nine hours from Houston.
Yup.
NM
Maybe Slim would actually show?
We were a problem for the range owner last time we were there. Some folks kept breaking basic range rules ~ the dude had to come say something to us three different times.
Make that Mexico not New Mexico.
Even worse.
Mexico.
Y’all could charter a private plane and rent a big SUV...or two.
I’m just say’n
Owner did not like lemons.
Awesomeness has a price which is sometimes too high.
I’ma look at some north-Houston piney woods type ranges.
Used to be friends on Facebook with a range owner in Conroe
but he was one of those Mexicans that figure they are “Noble
Indians” and he wanted whitey to be all apologetic and stuff.
Posted a lot of crap to that effect. Some fell for it.
Ultimately I had to tell him that if they had developed a
culture able to defend that which they never claimed to
own, rather than being a bunch of dog-eating illiterates
that never discovered the wheel then things might have
worked out better for them.
That kind of ended our working relationship.
I’m guessing our budget might be more along the lines of piling in the back of our horse trailer.
I don’t mind hauling everyone, but I’ll need some gas money. That big sail brings the Expedition down to about 8 mpg.
