Permethrin.
I thought that was for lice on kiddies. Does it work for fleas on kitties? The OP has a kitty, not kiddies. Then again, maybe he has kiddies too. If so, I hope they don’t get lice. They’re harder to get rid of.
Permethrin is extremely toxic to cats. It is great safe stuff, but cats are highly sensitive to it.
