I've heard and read spurious posts about 'mysterious white vans', 'unmarked buses', etc. allegedly transporting illegals to the interior of the country. I thought it was just conspiracy-theory/tin-hat stuff, save for the hard-to-ignore reports of clusters of outbreaks of disease in various parts of the country, including my State. Seriously: It never rose above the level of a few mysterious videos posted online (at least that I ever saw).
Just today I saw an odd vehicle for the first time: A bus with the logo for GEO Transport on the side.
This is the company

This is what I learned in just a few precious minutes of my slammed day
Which only adds to the drama given the post I made the other day here

Oregon is one of many States to have seen a spike in long-dormant or minor diseases such as Measles, Pertussis (whooping cough), Enterovirus and others cited in the link at the post above. As well, there have been a steady stream of 'experts' on the radio to poo-poo the outbreaks, even going so far as stating false statistics.
I've never seen a GEO Transport bus in the state prior. It had smoked privacy windows and streamlined bars as well. If they've used them for prisoner transports prior, I've never seen them before today.

The South Texas Detention Complex is a privately owned detention facility under contract with ICE to house detainees pending removal processing. In cooperation with ICE, the facility assists in the admission process, housing, processing and transporting of illegal aliens (detainees) to their country of origin in an expedited manner. Due to the nature of the detained population, the facility does not offer educational or vocational training programs. Ownership and operation of the South Texas Detention Complex were assumed by The GEO Group, Inc. (GEO) following the acquisition of Correctional Services Corporation (CSC) in November 2005.
Oddly, it was traveling Northbound on I5 and Oregon has no GEO Group 'private prison' facilities that I know of (though there is at least one in WA).
Whoops: Not entirely true:

What is ISAP (Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP))???
That's where it diverges from 'Private Prisons' to something else:
The recent development and growth of Alternatives to Detention Programs (AIDPs) within the Office of Detention and Removal Operations (DRO) requires a consistent national policy related to enrollment. criteria. ATDPs were designed to provide expanded options for release of adult aliens, by assisting officers in closely monitoring aliens released into the community. ISAP and EMD represent two of the recent programs that have been developed to accomplish this goal. Each individual case is, reviewed carefully to determine whether an A TDP should be employed and, if so, the appropriate program and level of supervision are selected.
You really need to read that PDF Memo to get the full gist of it, as the last page of the 'memo' contains this:
When DRO is notified that an alien who has been enrolled in either program has violated his/her status it falls upon the case deportation officer to verify if, in fact, a violation has occurred. Once the deportation officer has determined that the case requires the termination of the contractual monitoring of the individual and their return to physical custody, the case will be referred to the local fugitive unit for immediate action. The case officer will continue to work with the fugitive unit to locate and apprehend the subject. Field Office Directors (FODs) should also consider prosecution under Title 8 U.S.C. §1253(b), for those violating the conditions of their release. Pursuant to the definition of fugitive in the National Fugitive Operations Program policy and procedure document, this type of individual clearly fits the description of a fugitive for programmatic purposes. As such, the fugitive operations teams can be used as a tool in the recovery of aliens who violate the conditions of their participation in the alternatives to detention programs. However, FODs are cautioned that they should use this asset only to recover aliens who violate the conditions of their release. They are not to be used as case officers to control aliens under the program or to be used to verify if violations have occurred.Who owns GEO Group?
That's a good question still unanswered.
If anyone has more time than me and curious, GEO Group's 2012 Fiscal Year SEC filing
Oh, and by the way...yes, the GEO Group runs the centers housing the 'unaccompanied minors' that seem to have been pulled off the news by Ebola and ISIL crises
My State is 100% vote-by-mail. I'm just curious if anyone in other States will be observant and note the appearance of 'unusual buses/transports' at or near voting facilities in just over a week...ya know???
There seems much, much more to this. Prove me wrong...PLEASE.
No, that’s ‘just’ the children. I’m talking about the adults that they’ve been shipping all over the country for who-knows-how-long. The ‘unaccompanied minor’ thing just broke the story that they’re disseminating them all over the country (the children, that is). But the ISAP program seems to be just ‘one’ program that disseminates adults, too, and releases them into communities.
The ‘children’ thing seems a bit of a convenient distraction. Too convenient, if you ask me. It’s late...I’m done...
The GEO group started as Wackenhut security in the 1950’s. It’s involved with uniform security services, For- profits corrections operations for both state and Federal corrections and also deals with interstate transportation of federal prisoners and detainees. The name change happened in 2003.

I see dead people.

Biological warfare is about as low as it gets.

Pretty much sounds like a fascist business model.

Unmarked buses with “Geo Transport” on the sides?
Is it oxymoron time?
A couple of months ago, I saw two white, unmarked buses pull into the small town just up the road from us. They had VERY tinted windows so I couldn’t see anything inside. They turned at the road that goes to our National Guard’s barracks, as I expected them to. That’s where they set up a crowd of Katrina “refugees” that were shipped up here after the hurricane hit.
I can’t help but wonder how many other buses came in that I didn’t see.
I’ve asked around but no one has been able to find out if there were illegals on the buses. We do know the refugee resettlement bunch in Nashville had plans to accept illegals and spread them around the state. The liberal mayor of the town the buses rolled into probably said, “Sure. Send some here!” I do know I’ve seen a lot more Hispanics in the stores since then, and they don’t speak English.
At least we have photo voter ID laws here so they’ll have a hard time trying to vote.
But diseases are definitely a worry. A couple of people I know who have school-aged children have told me respiratory illnesses are prevalent in our area schools. They worry it’s Enterovirus but don’t know if any of the sick kids have been tested for it.
One child in Nashville just died of a respiratory illness and they’re running tests for EV-D68 now. And as I recall, one died a week or so ago around Knoxville and tested positive for the disease.
Any-hoo, you can chalk up one more who has seen unmarked white buses and has questions about them.
BTTT
I have seen several “unmarked white busses” transporting troops to National Guard training camps. Does that count?
You're one of the few. They're being shot down all over the country. Which is part of my concern.
I wish I'd had time to follow the bus, but I work for a living and it isn't in news or blogs...
I was familiar with the 2 companies doing private prison work, including this one, but once refreshing my memory never knew anything about them having their own fleet of vehicles for transportation or, or that matter, their involvement in shuttling Illegals around the country.
If the government is contracted to have a private company move illegals into the heart of the country, rather than deporting them, and then process them for ‘monitoring’ into the community while simultaneously providing them the means to eat (EBT) and work (ID cards)...
...then we have de facto amnesty in violation of all current immigration laws and we’re all footing the bill.
I’m so damned busy that this is all the time/attention I can give it. I’d hoped perhaps some other FReepers might agree with the observations here and find out more.
Taking a page from DHS, I ‘saw something/said something’ and posted it here.
I’m cynical on this election. If fraud is rife and it ends up involving illegals, ICE/GEO Group is how they got there...least of all that’s how they brought their diseases to all of our communities....
...to say nothing of the fact that our government paid them to do it.
Our state legislature followed another state’s voter ID law (I believe it was IN’s) when they put ours together. Their law had already been upheld by the Supreme Court. So far, Holder & Crew haven’t come after us but we’ve had plenty of griping from our own dem politicians.
Voter fraud still happens though. Heck, we had three cases here in our little rural county last election that I’m personally aware of.
But illegals voting in droves won’t be as easy in TN as it is in your state. My hair stood on end when I first heard about a few states now mailing ballots to EVERYone.
I wanted to follow those two buses I saw but the road they turned on isn’t open to the public. It just goes back to those barracks. I sure would’ve liked to have seen who piled off of them.
I wouldn't have thought twice about it, if I had not read your thread.
That being said....there's not a danged thing we can do about it.
Looks like a prison bus.
