Tamara Lusardi, a transgender who transitioned from male to female, has won his case against the Department of the Army for discrimination and humiliation, based on a report from the U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC).
In 2010, Lusardi was working for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center as a civilian employee, and announced that he was now officially beginning his transition from male to female. Lusardi changed his name and began dressing as a woman, at which point management held a meeting to accommodate Tamara in the workforce. Management supported Lusardi and repeatedly stated that they intended to treat him fairly and accommodate in any way possible, yet emphasized that they also wanted to ensure a safe workplace for everyone.
In light of these concerns, Lusardi voluntarily agreed to use the executive restroom, given that he had not undergone gender transition surgery and several female employees had expressed serious concern about sharing a restroom with a man presenting as a woman.
However, Lusardi didnt stick to the agreement, using the female restroom on three separate occasions between January and March 2011. After females again reported discomfort, Lusardi was informed that he should continue to use the executive restroom as agreed, but he protested. But discomfort is relevant, according to the OSC, an office which holds that regardless of Lusadis initial agreement, he should be able to change his mind and use the female restroom whenever he sees fit. Employee preferences are irrelevant to the legality of the issue and must be changed through training.
Particularly egregious for Lusardi was the fact that one of his supervisors continued to refer to him as Sir in email communications. This made it difficult for Lusardi to sleep at night. Tamara also alleges that over the course of time he was denied work.
[T]he Agency inappropriately restricted [Tamaras] restroom usage, repeatedly failed to use her proper name and pronouns, and subjected her and her workplace conversations to increased review and scrutiny, the report noted. The move represents a serious follow through of Obamas executive order from July, which bans workplace discrimination against LGBT federal government employees or contractors.
As a part of OSC recommendations, the Army will now mandate additional sensitivity training for supervisors and employees regarding LGBT issues.

The Army loses no matter which way they go: guilty of harassment or guilty of discrimination against transgenders. I’d go with the 2nd choice, because transgenders aren’t yet approved in the army, and because you can always declare that a transgender isn’t a transgender until he/she’s had their equipment lopped off/added on.
I understand a lot of them don’t like to go that surgical last mile.
I know this is frustrating but this in your face behavior is what will change hearts and minds against activist LGBT. The more they reveal their true nature and their true goals the more people will reject their activism. Some times you have to lose a few battles to get repositioned for a victory. These types don’t know how to restrain themselves and are massively overplaying their hand.
So, all the women, wearing pants suits and the men wearing kilts are in trouble. So what? How does that pertain to what bathroom they use?

That criteria is somewhat restrictive too, I can say from a lifetime of obeservation, most males don’t hit it a good percentage of the time. ;-)

Hilarious that the article continually calls him a “him”. That’s probably particularly egregious to this person as well.
It would be a big deal to me. Especially when he comes out with his panties down to readjust his garter belt.
But that’s me.
They don’t sell hygiene products in ladies’ rooms anymore? Just check out your average big employer. I’ve never worked in an office that didn’t sell them.
Restrooms that I have seen do not have vending machines, and I would not be embarrassed to use one in front of anyone if they did.
Do you know any transgendered people? You need to expand your horizons. Most transgendered people that I have encountered are very meek, self-conscious and retiring. They aren’t going to hurt you in any way, except maybe the masculine lesbians, who use ladies’ rooms.
If you are so frightened, maybe you are better off avoiding public restrooms.
