NO ONE TEXTED ... all they did was answer the phone ... they HAD to .... they're (WE'RE !!! ) conditioned to answer the phone.
Except my wife ... she drives me nuts ...
puttering around in the kitchen, phone rings, 20 steps away ... MAYBE she'll answer it before the answering machine kicks in after 6 rings.

That’s exactly what the clip is about. The driver was texting (i.e. simulating sending a text to all the moviegoers). In the simulation, the driver crashed because he/she was distracted by the texting.
She’s screening the calls. I do it all the time. Especially when I’m puttering around in the kitchen. 9 times out of 10, its a sales call or a campaign call.
