I knew before looking.
Sounds like an extra special tour. One not soon to be forgotten. Bonus right?
LOL. Of course it was on her “last day.” No harm, no foul.
I like Chinatown very much and have since I was 11 years old when we first visited SF.
I lived a block from the Chinatown gate for several years in the 80s. I loved it. I used to walk through Chinatown at all times of the night and never felt threatened.
Reminds me of that Alaskan news person who f-bombed her last day to go and grow weed. Why do these two think that civility and decorum are only used to maintain a job?
She’d better not eat in any Chinese restaurants soon.
“I make special Won Ton Soup Just for you.”
had some bad Chop suey ?
The thing to understand about Chinatowns, especially one like San Francisco - it usually attracts the least education, most provincial, least skilled, most rural Chinese. Many residents in them are also illegal - they go there because they can blend in, find cheap housing they can cram into, and find work as indentured servants in restaurants or in light manufacturing.
That’s why they are dirty, crowded and noisy. She’s right about that, and there’s no point denying it.
At the heart of this would be the comparison of IQs in America; blacks average about 85 while Asians average about 105.
That must leave blacks resentful, because they see young Asians in fancy new cars, while they still be ridin da buses, etc.
The Asians in my California suburban town are educated professionals, doctors, pharmacists, dentist, lawyers, engineers, small business owners etc.
That is why they are up early, making noise which bothers blacks who plan to be sleepin in.
OTOH for every educated professional black, there are several just bumming around.
I thought it might be a gay tour guide who didn’t like Chinese family values. But it’s a black woman who doesn’t like Chinese educational values.
On the other hand, as someone who is often in Chinatown and rides buses with Chinese immigrants: they are loud...and dirty.
Japantown is essentially right up the hill from Chinatown, and very different in terms of cleanliness etc.
I do wonder, however, what the guide said, on her last tour, concerning Our Lady of Maytag.
More whitey hatin’ on . . Oh wait.
"Where are we, Wang?"
“Americans don’t eat turtles and frogs.”
Come on, now. Southern American rednecks eat turtles and frogs all the time, they’re considered delicacies. They just don’t use all those exotic spices and elaborate cooking procedures. They’ve got a way of making ‘em taste like chicken.
That lady waited until her last day on the job to get drunk and pull that rant, and I’ll bet it won’t affect the juicy retirement package she got from the company.
She must have watched that recently produced commercial titled,
“F-bombs For Feminism: Potty-mouthed Princesses Use Bad Word For Good Cause”
http://vimeo.com/109573972
Don’t watch unless you can handle watching little girls dropping F-bombs like it was going out of style.
I’d love to be a tour guide in Detroit. “Behold 40 years of continuous democrat rule...”
I’ve been to Chinatown in SF years ago. I thought it was very nice.
But she didn’t rage about the Castro District?
“When you come to America you’ve got to assimilate a little bit.”
As a whole, the Chinese assimilate much better than the blacks. The Chinese don’t bring us the crime, welfare, and political correctness bs we have to deal with like we do with so many blacks. The Chinese and other Asian groups are non-violent, hard-working, and responsible citizens. I wish I could say the same for most blacks.
