That was the one song in the films that I didn’t like. It clearly sounded “modern” and did not fit the films whatsoever. And, they cut the scene where Miranda Otto was basically singing in Middle English at the funeral of her cousin. Now THAT was beautiful, and should never have been cut from the film. You can see it on the extended version, but it was still a crime to cut that and leave “pippin’s song.”
