This is one of numerous fences that have been erected by the wealthy 'haves' of the Michigan suburb of Grosse Pointe Park to 'prevent 'have-nots' from Detroit from driving into the city'.

Took a Street View drive around the city limits. Only saw one such barrier, though I might have missed a couple.

I don't think that can be reasonably described as "numerous."

Also noticed that most of the houses in the city are quite modest, nothing at all like what they chose to put up as representative .

There are lots of places in my city where streets don't go through. Has nothing to do with haves and have-nots.

Check out Mexicantown with street view. You’ll see some empty or abandoned buildings but not many and they don’t stay long. Lots of new porches, windows doors and siding. People there take some pride in their neighborhood.

One of the alleged barriers is blocking a road obviously under construction.
