If she was at JPL in Pasadena, her description of the mission control building seems about right. It’s possible that another feed could have been selected for the monitors that were distributed throughout the lab, maybe to a local TV station like channel 11 or 13 that regularly broadcast science fiction movies. I assume she was a contractor or lab employee with daily duties that gave her access to these areas. She sounds like a nice lady with perfect faculties, but not all the facts. :^)

Welcome to FR! Did you know that onychomycosis is the name doctors give to toenail fungus? And that there are laser cures nowadays? Well, I certainly didn’t. I was using Grandma Drill’s patented toenail fungus cure for years and didn’t know that she formulated it for a neighbor she didn’t like, which explains the pig manure dip, but then Granny Drill always a kidder, and of course, she didn’t have lasers back then or she probably would have had him etch a copy of the Declaration of Independence across his big toe just to piss him off. He was a Democrat, you know. Granny was card-carrying anarchist who used to vote for Harold Stassen every year until he died and she swore she’d never vote for another Republican. Personally I think that’s overreaction myself, but she may have found out about his toenail fungus. Do you think dipping Harold Stassen’s toes in pig manure would have got him into the White House? I mean, considering who’s there now?
