The first time it went out with a bang this time it went out with a whimper; CNNs Crossfire is no more. Again. The show had been missing in action for weeks and already some of its co-hosts Stephanie Cutter, Newt Gingrich, S.E. Cupp and Van Jones have been popping up as contributors around the networks landscape. Some staff have been moved to other programs, and the remainder have been encouraged to apply for open positions within the bureau, source say surprising, given that CNN is in the process of slashing about 300 positions.
...but CNN says we’re living in an economic boom!
Though I have a soft spot for S.E. Cupp, Van Jones still needs a pair of cement shoes.
LOL
When CNN flushes in a forrest does anyone hear?
Freegards
LEX
When is Erin gone?
Newt and Mitt, ‘The RINO Hour’.
Maybe the budget could afford just one side, they could call it “Fire”
By all these lost programs and staff, they should sub-let their network to conservative talk-show hosts like Rush, Levin,Savage, Hedgecock, etc. I like it when Doug Urbanski fills in for Rush; he holds my attention. They can all Skype it in.
What little respect I had for Newt ended when he appeared with Van Jones and even wrote an article together.
Used to plan my day around Braden vs. Buchanan. Novak was good too.
AFTER HOURS on Channel 9 in DC preceded it. It was the best! Naturally, Braden was drunk. But, sometimes Pat was ... silly too and just pulling Braden’s chain. I remember him just flat-out making fun of Eleanor Smeal. And the radio show was great. Buchanan was funnier tha Limbaugh ever was.
lol I didn’t even know it was still on the air.
Those were the days.
Both were razor smart and funny.
In the pre Fox days, I used to watch “Crossfire” regularly. I hated the yelling and talk-over format, but it was the only place you could hear any conservative voices at all. Now that there are alternatives with a whole lot better format, I have never seen it again.
S.E. Cupp is two shows down now. She was on a feeble attempt of a clone of “The Five” on MSNBC. She left that program (I think it too is gone) for CNN’s Crossfire, which is now gone also. Two strikes down, one to go. Her only ship left in the port is Fox and who knows if they want her. So, unless she goes on an internet program, or on one of the alphabet channels like CBS, NBC, ABC, she’s walking on thin ice. But who knows. Cable hopping is what they all do.
Tucker Carlson did the MSNBC, CNN circuit and now seems to have found a pretty secure home on Fox, but of course Tucker was well seasoned, and S.E. Cupp is pretty new to the game. Will be interesting to see where she pops up, but she must be very frustrated about now.
You can’t beat Buchanan for over all knowledge.
CNN should just cover the Buffaloes at Ted’s ranches 24/7. It’d be more useful.
Must be the jokey part that got Souter on The Court.
I remember those days well.
I planned my dinner so I could eat while watching the fireworks. I thoroughly enjoyed that version of Crossfire.
