I paid close attention to this movie ending a few years ago. It made me hate the movie. SPOILER-— he leaves his family.

Yeah, definitely agree with Close Encounters. Landing scene was too drawn out, would have liked to have found out what happened onboard the spaceship. Also, they never really explained why they made contact with us / "kidnapped" humans.

I don’t even remember the ending of Close Encounters. All I remember is how overwhelmingly stupid the whole thing is.
