FULL TITLE: Girl Scout membership plummets for second straight year losing more than 100,000 members
For the second straight year, youth and adult membership in the Girl Scouts has dropped sharply, intensifying pressure on the 102-year-old youth organization to find ways of reversing the trend.
According to figures provided to The Associated Press, the total of youth members and adult volunteers dropped by 6 per cent over the past year — from 2,994,844 to 2,813,997.
Over two years, total membership is down 11.6 per cent, and it has fallen 27 per cent from a peak of more than 3.8 million in 2003.

They are trying to do it to the boy scouts too.
I just put my foot down with three women who were members of the leadership committee of our troop, and they couldn't get along. It was two against one. I told them that we were trying to raise MEN, SOLDIERS, AND CITIZENS - IN THAT ORDER, and that if one goes they all go. That this is a younger version of the VFW, (very few women). You should have seen the looks on their faces. Priceless. I grew up as a scout and the leaders were all WW2 and Korea vets.

If you think about it, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts were the first Big Data mining projects... complete canvassing of every normal family neighborhood in the US .... data on where to bring in the wrecking balls.
Ehhh... I don’t agree. Keep in mind that the Girl Scouts’ membership peaked as recently as 2003.

Perhaps the masses have caught on that the only reason for the girl scouts to exist is to fund the salaries of the CEO’s with cookie money.
Indeed. Or if they connect it, they don't care. They look down on the rubes anyway, and their ideology will get more concentrated as their little pool evaporates further.

Maybe they ran out of Abortion Merit Badges and the girls and their mommies got ticked off.
