What are we supposed to be seeing in this picture other than rocks?I was looking to see if there were any arrowheads and other Indian artifacts laying in that picture.

Since the first stage of civilization is the stone age, you're all missing the obvious; we're looking at the remnants of a Martian stone age settlement, rock shards.
