I don’t really have a good ear. This afternoon I asked DP for the note to start the closing song, and he played me a chord. “The note, the note!” I said ... and Elen gave me a “What’s your problem?” look and sang the note.
GAH. She has better pitch than I do, but she’s too self-conscious to sing.
This is the picture I tried to post from my iPad the other day. I put a show rack on the mantel while I was moving stuff around to paint. I made a shelf to replace the shoe rack because I thought something like the shoe rack only knick knackier would look nice on the mantel. But the wood I had was too narrow for this fireplace so I put it on the mantel in the living room. I put my Avon cars on and took pictures but haven't up loaded them to Photobucket yet. There is still some stuff left in them cars. I wonder if it still smells the same?
Bell SongAhem.
I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
The bells are ringing for me and my gal,
Their old familiar carols play,
The birds are singing for me and my gal.
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Everybody's been knowing
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
To a wedding they're going.
I thought how, as the day had come,
They're congregating for me and my gal,
The belfries of all Christendom.
The Parson's waiting for me and my gal.
Had rolled along the unbroken song,
I'm goin' to build a little home for two,
Of peace on earth, good will to men,
In Love-land for me and my gal.
And in despair I bowed my head:
See the relatives there looking over the pair!
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"They can tell at a glance it's a loving romance.
It's a wonderful sight as the families unite.
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
The bells are ringing for me and my gal,
"God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The birds are singing for me and my gal.
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men."
I'm goin' to build a little home for two,
Till, ringing singing, on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime,
In Love-land for me and my gal.
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
Might take a little practice.
