It’s a melding of two shows, “Gremlins” for not feeding them after midnight, and “The Trouble With Tribbles” of the Star Trek original series.

The number comes from one tribble having ten offspring every twelve hours for three days. That’s six generations, or eleven to the sixth power, 1,771,561.

One million, seven hundred seventy-one thousand, five hundred and sixty-one, that’s the trouble with tribbles.

I didn’t really like the movie.

As for math, that was my worst subject in college. But I will confess to being a Trekkie, and went to a convention when I was in college. I got to hear Scottie speak!
