A 3-D printer can make a cookie that is a cage for an animal inside.
You could have jelly-filled cookies, as opposed to jelly-filled donuts.
You could print cookies in bug shapes, to gross out the kids. If that doesn’t work, tell them you tried to make the bug cookies, but it was too much trouble, so what they just ate was a real bug.
