Stay low!
I just saw a news story that the mayor won’t light the tree tonight.
You think it will get bad? I’m going to turn on the radio.
WABC or WOR?
I ran across an ornament that I had made when I was teaching a craft class in Del Rio, and if I can find a box for it, I will send it. It’s too big for any tree I will ever have, so you may as well have it.
Thanks for helping with The-Cat-Called-April! I will tell her all about you!
They are going to give me a carrier for her! YAY!
How nice. We treasure all the things you’ve made for us.
Tell the Cat Presently Called April that I expect her to be extremely nice to you and always go in the box.
Do you need anything for a kitty layette that we can send?
Or register on Amazon?
I’m sure this is an ornament like none you may have expected, so please don’t think in terms of stuffed burlap! It may even be something the Cubs could master!...
She has been in a cage for three months. The gal I talked to brought tears to my eyes when she said she wanted The Cat Presently Called April to have a forever home for the holidays.
Cat toys? Scratching post? Floofy bedding? Brush? Nail clippers? Treats?
Anything, actually...foods, coupons for litter...
I’m sure she will want to sleep with me so floofy bedding might just be for daytime when I am out here in the living room.
Amazon owrks...you have my list...
Jake loves fleece baby blankets.
I saw a cat bed at Walmart this morning that had catnip in it in a few places. It was perfect sized for a cat, too, but I put it back. I had already gone to the Outer Limits...
I thought I had a piece of fleece in a bin...under the bed...and maybe some stuffing that will work in a pinch.
I suggest you see where she likes to lie, first. If it’s something like under the desk, or on the table, then you’d just want to fold a blanket for her.
My parents’ old cat Sassy, the one before the present one who dislikes everyone, had towels spread on flat surfaces for morning, midday, afternoon sunbeams. Dad would say, “Sassy’s going to lie on the beach now.”
The desk is not conducive to sleeping cats. There are too many looseleaf binders under there. I have a basket that I retrieved from the cleaning of one woman’s apartment, and it’s brand new. The bed I looked at this morning would be a perfect fit for it, but I just couldn’t afford to get it.
There are only two windows here, and only one gets any sun to speak of. I would like to get her one of those windowsill lounges so she could enjoy the sun while it’s on the window.
I will have to find some fleece at JoAnn’s and cut it into kitty-sized “cots” so she can lie where she wants.
Like I said, wait to see what she likes first. Mom’s present cat, Polly, likes to sleep on a shelf in the bathroom where towels are stored.
My cats loved my bed and my sofa. They also liked the windowsills which I put fluffy pillows on.
The other place they would nap is the linen closet, the bath tub in the summer months, and a nice big cardboard box.
One cat slept with me practically every night. The other one about half the night, or on the foot of my bed.
S&A, we are talking about the new kitteh that will come to own me tomorrow morning! FReepmail me if you want the short version. ;o]
(Would that my bathroom were large enough!)
It will take her a few days to get adjusted to something that isn’t a cage, so I don’t know what to expect. I feel so bad that she has been there so long, but I know she has been cared for, so it’s not all bad. She has been spayed and has all her shots, and I know when I take her in for anything, they will treat her well. (They even put my last name on her cage!)
The Great PV used to sleep on the bottom shelf of a small bookcase we had in the entry hall. He took up the entire shelf!
My windowsills aren’t very wide, but I do want a sunbeam for The Cat Presently Called April, and that means one of those comfy platforms.
I don’t have a lot of places for a cat to nap, but I will make as many as I can. Still, there is always my bed, and since I have a heated mattress pad, I’m sure the bed will be a favorite spot.
And I KNOW cats love boxes! The late, Great PV would kill for possession of cardboard box that held six half-gallon milk cartons!
And paper bags!

Just ask WhiteFurbeastWithNoTailToTell.
Of course, it then becomes impossible to ever dispose of the box...
I have it on. My sister works in the city and left early because she has to walk by Rockefeller Center.
I love going into the city to see the tree and the windows. Every year when I was a kid my parents would take us in to see the Rockettes, and FAO Schwarz.
Sometimes I miss being a kid. I’m still a kid at heart.
