Still praying.
Praying
Prayers up!
You have to unplug the coffee pot to feed the cat?
That’s rather confusing.
Back in May my F-I-L went into intensive care due to bladder issues. Apparently his bladder was so full his kidneys had begun shutting down. My schizophrenic M-I-L, who was a nurse at some point, told him to drink coffee.
By the time his children had threatened her enough to get him to the ER he was a few hours away from death. But they pulled him through.
Praying a similar good result for you.
I am originally from Sanford, FL
My family’s prayers for your parents and you, TC.
Thank you, everyone, for your prayers. I’m sure it helped! Dad’s aide for the day, a CNA named Beverly, is Pentecostal, and she and I had the Spirit moving in the emergency room.
Dad was not able to urinate because of his prostate swelling because he couldn’t swallow one of his medicines the last couple of days. They had to put in a catheter, which took half a dozen large young medical personnel even after they gave him a sedative.
We took him back home, but Mom is trying to get two aides for a while, until he calms down after the ER visit. Then we met with a lady who has a business of helping people negotiate the elder-care system. She’s going to help Mom work with the admin of the current facility and also be looking for a new place.
We both feel better after this meeting. I wish I could stay longer, but DP has to go on a trip on Monday and can’t get out of it. However, my brother and his wife are coming the middle of next week, so Mom will only have to get through a few days.
Thanks for keeping us posted. Prayers continuing.
Out of surgery, back home, doing fine.
We appreciate it very much. Mom is getting very strung out, but we’ve got two aides for tonight, starting at 7:00, and we’re going to go over before they start their shift and go over what help Dad needs.
Mom’s cat is here by me, griping.
I told Mom I’d draft a timeline of events over the last week or so, for her to share with her “health care advocate,” so I’d better get on with it. Mom is getting her sequence confused, but I’ve been taking notes since she first called me on Tuesday night to say he’d been in the hospital.
The news is good, thanks! We are still praying for all of you, including the family left at home.
It sounds as if the prayers are working mightily, and that’s what we intended!
I’m sure your mother is grateful to have you with her during this trying time. And it also sounds as if putting your dad in a new facility will be the best thing for him. He doesn’t seem to be getting what he needs where he is.
Hang in there, Girl! *hug*
As you’ve been known to say, “A change is as good as a rest!” :-).
LOL!
Remind me not to set the microwave for the length of time noted on the frozen dinner box. With a carousel, the length can be shortened.
I need to remember that...
I hope they didn’t remove anything useful.
What is/was up?
I started working on transcribing my personal history this morning, but by the time I found the written copies of entries, I was in so much pain I only got half a page done.
Working on it tomorrow is not an option if I am going to go to St George. And that is iffy.
Busdaddy has a compatriot who wants to go, and I think between the two of them, they could get along without me. It just depends on how I feel.
Now available - microwave charcoal...
Haha....good one! LOL!
We’ve had connectivity issues galore up here in the White Mountains of Arizona for quite a while - limited data on my phone makes it hard to keep up. I just read about your father, T-c and you have had my prayers since you were preparing to take off to go help your mother deal with things. Isn’t it amazing how God brings just the right people to us when we need encouragement and a spiritual booster shot?
Of course, ‘Face, you are also in the know about what Heavenly Father can do when push comes to shove. I’ve been praying for you as well. I don’t always have time to check FR or if I do check, to chime in.
Prayers are a daily occurrence for us. Be assured that Creator knows before we utter a word what is on our hearts. A Kiowa friend says “Jesus, Day-Own-Day” (bad phonetics) - means it’s going to be okay. :-)
Father God, dear Jesus, dear Holy Spirit please send ministering angels to T-c’s family as they work to comfort and stabilize T-c’s father. Lord, keep your hands of mercy upon T-c’s mother as this is a stressful time for her. Let all the family lean on your everlasting arms and give you thanks. Amen
Just a bit of torn cartilage in my knee. Hurts about as much now (without pain killers on board) as it did before the surgery.
