T-c’s dad took a fall yesterday; he is OK today, and is back home, but will need extra care for a while.

We haven’t heard from the aide who’s staying with Dad, so assume all is fine right now. He was eating lunch with a good appetite and reasonable motor control when we came over here to Mom’s apartment. She’s looking at getting more helpers so he’ll have help with walking.
She has a meeting with the staff in a little while, and I will go and take notes, which is one of my superpowers. Speaking of which, I was just sitting here reading the newspaper while Mom was on the phone with her bank about something, and she has weapons-grade deadpan sarcasm. I’m sure the youngsters on the phone missed almost everything.
Tom is supposed to be getting his hair cut today. I texted Jamie-our-hairdresser and told her I’d pay based on how short she got it!

The inferno draws so much air in at the base that it is like a tornado. That place really sucks.

It is getting cold here! I have been wearing long sleeve shirts and today I wore my coat. I drive up the hill to work and the pass is over 4000 ft . It can be in the 40’s when I go through in the mornings.

Mom has arranged a full-time minder for Dad until ... whenever. It’s possible that some therapy can be arranged to help with his balance so that he doesn’t fall again. She’s gone over to the Home to meet the aide coming on shift at 6:00 ... and just phoned to say the previous one left about 5 minutes early, before the new one arrived. She’ll be chewing someone out, I’m afraid - not the aide, someone higher up the food chain.
It’s interesting to see the different types of medical workers. These ladies are “Personal Service Assistant,” so they seem to be the equivalent of daycare workers. This is okay, because their main job is to help him move from place to place so he doesn’t fall.
I called home last night and had DP pull up my email and delete most of it. Tom’s haircut has been rescheduled because Jamie let her son take her phone to school, so Tom couldn’t call her for directions. R U MAD? she asked. No, of course not. If you’re going to have Jamie cut your hair, you have to expect this sort of thing. It’s just what she’s like.
