After remaining mostly silent since nude photos of her were taken from her phone and leaked online, actress Jennifer Lawrence has spoken out at length to Vanity Fair about the hack.
"It is not a scandal. It is a sex crime," Lawrence told Vanity Fair. "It is a sexual violation. Its disgusting. The law needs to be changed, and we need to change. Thats why these websites are responsible."
"Just the fact that somebody can be sexually exploited and violated, and the first thought that crosses somebodys mind is to make a profit from it. Its so beyond me. I just cant imagine being that detached from humanity. I cant imagine being that thoughtless and careless and so empty inside."
She went on: "Just because Im a public figure, just because Im an actress, does not mean that I asked for this. It does not mean that it comes with the territory. Its my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting."

They were on her phone and the iCloud backup of all phone pictures.
If you want to take and keep nude photos of your self or someone you love, you should store them where they are not “hackable.”
I would assume any data I place on a remote server used by others is not exactly the safest place for intimate material.
“Sex Crime” - No
Theft/Unauthorized Access/Invasion of privacy - Yes
Reposting or hosting of said material - File under the DMCA
All the rest is just semantics.
BTW - Hacking is a generous explanation of the crime. It was just a brute force attack to exploit password resets.
and are kept in a file that is supposed to be private.
Yeah, SUPPOSED to be.
I won’t do online banking with my smart phone. There are too many variables involved in the device’s operation.
Of course she didn't and of course they were. I never said different.
But if she didn't take nude photos of herself with her mobile phone's camera capabilities there would be no issue, would there? That is all I said. Ultimately SHE is responsible for the content and she should have been a bit more circumspect in her storage of such photos.
Now, how exactly is that attitude disgusting?
Apple auto-backs up the iPhone. Users don’t have a choice.

Sure they do. Don’t use the phone to take nude pictures. Is that so difficult?
And if you don’t want robbed, don’t have money...
I keep coming across this issue in the news and have to laugh my fanny off......since when is anyone in Hollywood in any position to call whatever happens in Hollywood a sexual crime or a scandal...they’re all knee deep in the cesspool there! They swim in it and eat it daily.....how ridiculous that their egos seem to think they’re important in the grand scheme of things....LOLOLOL....
Have money but don't be stupid.
Don't leave your ATM card with a post-it containing your pin number on the front seat of your car with the windows down.
The thief is wrong but the victim is stupid.

Like a Kennedy saying to someone, “dude that was really inappropriate and completely out of line! Are you intoxicated? I hope you’re not driving!”
