Thanks so much for the suggestions of other towns. I suppose the nanny state atmosphere might remind me of Berkeley, which was oppressive when I left there in 1978. I guess I’ll just have to go out and see it.
If you visit Golden, stay at the Golden inn on the main drag. It’s close to everything and has parking. Mrs Stand and I are planning to get a place there when our 15 year old graduates . Until then also consider beautiful oklahoma! Of 77 counties not one voted for the dogeater in two elections. Or Kerry for that matter. Just waiting for Texas to secede ....
