Cat Stevens is canceling his New York performance just weeks after announcing a six-city tour.
Stevens said on his Facebook page Wednesday that he would not keep the New York engagement because its requirement for paper tickets has led to exorbitant resale prices.

You may be right - but my point was on scalping per se - and not about Cat Yusef specifically.

Eddie Vedder always whined about scalpers and ticketmaster Poor little ignorant Eddie doesn't realize that it takes more to put on a concert than just the musical talent.....and that everybody deserves their piece of the action if they do in fact help the whole thing come about.

He could fill 2-5000 seaters in progressive locales...with boomer age group
I liked some of his stuff...spent some wistful afternoons smoking dope listening to Tea for the Tillerman
He had a powerful voice and acoustic style
But it was still chick music.......something we kept around for the girls moods
Girls didnt do Sabbath and Alice......back then

A lot us people in our 50’s still enjoy his music and are mature enough to respect his right to practice his religion. The NY venue insists on paper tickets which makes scalping too easy. If the prices are too high there must be a lot of us old parts who want to see him.
To: pepsionice
Gee - 18 month career that started in 1967 and was one of the top selling artists until the early 1980’s.
To: Olog-hai
What happened? Did the scalpers behead everybody in the ticket line?
