We learned to drink on 3.2 beer in NC. By the time we got to liquor, we knew the perils.

Same here in Colorado. And cops were a lot more relaxed on house parties. They'd just break them up and send everyone home. These days, the parents would get arrested and charged, whether they were there or not.
