Brilliant! He basically started eBay-China. Most of what he did was copy and bring it together. For that, he gets a pat on the back and billions of dollars.

Millions of millions of hardworking, disciplined people are poor and will be so their entire lives. Just the way it is — but it is condescending for some rich commie who hit it lucky to declare it’s their own fault.

There is more to life and family than working and having self discipline. Some of the hardest working people seem to have no affinity to relationships; their children are strangers to them.
Alibaba is the Asian version of Amazon is projected to make $650BB in revenue. Ma has taken the company public this week and is bringing Alibaba to the American market.
It depends on what poor is, a lot of nurses and moms, and soldiers and sailors, and missionaries and ministers might not be dirt poor, but at age 35 are still too busy with the unimportant stuff in life to focus on their first billion, much less their 10th billion.

And not everyone measures their life by financial wealth. I know people on missions in Africa that wouldn’t trade places with him. They don’t have a lot of money but they’re still living an abundant life. And they’re not going to bury this man with his money. In the end, his life may not be more meaningful than he made a lot of money. That’s still to be determined.
This is why China is going to take our place as the world’s leading economy. The only group in the US that strives for excellence is our athletes.
