In what may come as a surprise to residents of Colorado Springs and Pueblo, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesnt think those cities have roads.
Bloomberg told Rolling Stone that he was sorry about the recalls of two state senators last year over the Democratic state legislatures gun-control.
Colorado Springs is the second largest city in Colorado, Mr. Mayor, said Herpin. and not only do we have plenty of roads, but we are also home to the United States Air Force Academy, the U.S. Olympic Training Center and Committee Headquarters (which moved here from New York City), major military commands, and many high tech and defense related companies.
Rush says liberals call it "flyover country"
Many years ago I remember seeing a cartoon with a New Yorkers view of the US. The entire nation was not much bigger than their impression of the land mass of New York and the nation got distorted smaller the further past the Hudson it went.
These were some of the brightest young adults in New York. Many had never been outside of a 5 or 10 block radius of where they lived. One guy even bragged that he'd been all the way west to Buffalo.
We quickly discovered we had a gold mine of gullibility and started spinning tales about how we had to take the railroad to Minneapolis to rent a car for the rest of the trip. As they started eating things up, it escalated to stories about me no longer being able to earn decent summer money as an Indian scout because the Sioux weren't uprising anymore. Another guy in our group lamented that he'd lost his job driving stage now that the railroad had come through, but we were looking forward to a planned highway connection to Minneapolis-St.Paul so we wouldn't be stuck with the railroad schedule from now on.
ROTFL
To the liberal elite the country actually ends at the Hudson River and doesn’t reappear until you pass over the “Hollywood” sign in La La Land. Asked to draw maps of the USA those in New York could not even begin to determine its size and scope. Places such as Chicago, Kansas City, Phoenix and Minneapolis were mostly unknown to them and if known they had’nt a clue as to where they were located. The “South” did not exist at all...ever.
Nice graphic, but it overestimates how many of them have heard of Nebraska, much less the Chimney Rock landmark astride the old Oregon/Mormon Trails.
A friend of mine was selling real estate in Austin and had a woman from NY ask him if it was OK to put up a fence to keep the cows out of her yard.
He told her no.
Looks like voters are going to show the Chickenchoker the door.
I read it occasionally. My Dad would call it "The better to know your enemies".
One thing that I've noticed over the past six months or so is that it's become mildly critical of Dems in general, and Obama specifically. Nothing hard-hitting, mind you, but less gushing of praise and more thoughtful in their commentary. Posters here on FR would say "So what", but for a reliably lib rag like RS, extremely mild criticism of BO marks a real sea change in their demagogery
IMO, RS can't decide if Obama and the current crop of Dems are entirely too conservative, or just not liberal enough.
Either is fine with me, since Liberalism is a jealous god, and tolerates no dissent. Pass the popcorn.
“The better to know your enemies”
Agree with that, I’d just have a hard time stomaching the leftist diatribe without power puking.
As far as Liberalism being a jealous god, and tolerates no dissent.........I’ve heard of Another religion like that recently.
'Tisn't easy, but these are the sacrifices I make.... :-)
However...to show you Exhibit 'A'.... I also read "Fortune" magazine (a freebie, but worthless. When it expires, I'm done with it). In 2012, both Fortune and RS were predicting easy victories for BO.
"Nonsense" (or somesuch), I said. "No way THAT will ever happen!"
Lesson Learned. The better to know my enemies......
In Hong Kong the day after the 2010 election Bloomberg said If you look at the U.S., you look at who were electing to Congress, to the Senatethey cant read.”
Notwithstanding that two of the folks newly elected to Congress in his home state - Hayworth and Gibson - have PhD’s.
He just shoots off his mouth because he can, even if he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
We all just a pack of pig humper out here
That’s not the map I saw but it’s even better.
one county one vote when awarding state electors.
This will give an equal voice to all counties and prevent urbanized “free stuff” voters from keep other parts of states from voting.
Bloomy should stick to the hamptons.
he leases Bloomberg terminals to stockbrokers on the myth they are secure. His company was caught snooping with regards to what was being researched and messaged.
His company was data mining.
Any other person doing such acts would be doing insider information time.
