Mom, it’s the same idea as SSRIs or other antidepressants increasing the risk of suicide in the short term — explanation is that it increases the energy level in otherwise enervated individuals so suicidal ideation becomes manifest as behavior. Well known phenomenon especially in adolescents and teens. The article points out that impulsivity may increase also; a deadly combination for some experiencing a depression-fatigue syndrome.

We are so wonderfully complicated. What makes our attitudes change moment to moment? Stubbing a toe, hormones, whatever. Do you have a reference for your post? I am very interested in prevention.
