I remember denoting here a couple of years ago in essence "Rush" should give up on this sport, the thugs it was employing and be done with it. It seems he is trying to save the institution or has he finally given up hope? Is it dead? I don't think so, but is on it's way to being room temperature for many conservatives, they will just stop watching.
As you know, our precious and beloved leaders grace us with their very presence and brilliance. We must allow them exemption from the law so that we may better benefit from their spiritual aura.

If a player breaks the law, let the law handle it...otherwise, play football...

Baseball and hockey probably benefit in that one specific way for their farm systems not being a fraction as popular as college hoops or football. A lot easier to weed out the jerks before they make it to the big show. Also much easier to suspend or bench players when they play so many more games, much less impact on a successful season.

I will also go out on a limb, and I believe the level of domestic violence in the NFL has remained at a roughly steady rate. So, why now? Why is it such an important issue now, rather than years ago. Weren’t wives being punched then too?
