I miss science. I am pretty sure you can’t identify whether someone is a hunter or a farmer from DNA.
They didn’t even try. The hunter-gatherer bones were identified as such by the contest they were found in
Well, really... if you found someone with a hoe, you still have a couple of occupations to choose from.
They didn’t even try. The hunter-gatherer bones were identified as such by the contest they were found in
Contest = context grrr
If it was just a hoe, you’d be right.
“Hunters and gatherers get vitamin D through their food - because animals have a lot of it. But once you’re farming, you don’t get a lot of it, and once you switch to agriculture, there’s strong natural selection to lighten your skin so that when it’s hit by sunlight you can synthesise (sic) vitamin D.”
My grandfather was a farmer. He had a smokehouse full of bacon and sausage. He raised chickens, hogs and cattle. He had two ponds stocked with fish and a creek running through the property. Farmer does not equal vegetarian. I miss science.
And your grandfather would be in a minority relative to the average farmer both today and throughout history.
Proof vs. opinion. I miss science.
LOL. You don’t miss science, you’ve got issues with science.
Please show that contest (sic) was used for determining farmer vs hunter gatherer in the article. Please provide a reference for hunter gatherers eating more meat than farmers. I miss science.
If you don’t know that context is used in archaeology then it’s not so much that you miss science, it’s more that you don’t understand it.
You wanted a reference, here’s one.
You’re posting an article supposedly to support an assertion that farmers ate as much meat as hunter gatherers which contains the phrase “Ancient Egyptians consumed only little meat...”.
Are you sure you have a basic understanding of what you’re talking about? I reckon science doesn’t miss you in the least.
