The Edsel was named after a "corporate hero" of WWII.
I bought a Pinto with 2-liter engine/transmission (made in Germany), raced it SCCA's "Showroom Stock" class, sold it to my Dad, who sold it to my girlfriendwho I married. After paying a dollar-a-pound for the Pinto in 1971, and driving it for 6+ years, we sold it for ¾ of what I paid for it!
