Actually, TN is pretty bad off despite what you believe. It has the 8th worst unemployment rate in the country. GA, KY and MS are even worse and AL is close to TN. Whether or not you realize it, a lot of Southerners are in desperate times.

Hum. The company my daughter works at hired a convicted felon on probation the other day. You'd think with jobs so scarce they would be more picky. IOW no shortage of jobs or workers. Companies in my area are expanding and others moving in. New construction housing is being seen now also. Not near the rate before the market bust though.

Twenty twenty five years ago only one Industrial Park was on my end of the county. Today three more exist. West Tennessee may be different as there are more rural counties there than here and Tennessee does have a few counties with high unemployment rates like Scott County. Those living in rural and remote counties understand to work you likely have an hour drive one way.
