I had a debit card for awhile but as one who keeps the checkbook balanced at all times, I had a problem keeping up with the balance. If I may ask, how do you keep your ckbook up to date? Do you have another way?

I have two accounts. One is the direct deposit and I write the rare check(s) on and the very, very occasional debit card. I have another account that I use only the debit card (have no checks for it at all) and all the automatic payments from, internet purchases, and transfer just enough money into it from account #1 as needed. That way the account that I use the card on never has that much money in it and there is no outside access to the main account.

The wife also has a separate account that is debit card only that we move money into as needed.
