There are plenty of blacks in MLB: they are called “Dominicans.”
Wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that the majority of boys do not grow up with a father figure in their lives would it?
Well, blacks dominate basketball and football, so maybe they figure they’ll leave baseball to the white guys, the Latinos and orientals.
I actually thought about this today, proving I have too much time for useless meanderings. My conclusion was that black men tend to be more passionate and fiery when it comes to sports. Baseball, though played every day, provides a lot of down time, and it requires the fine art of doing something like pitching or batting without thinking about it. If you have to think about it, you’re going to screw it up. In baseball players have to prepare, prepare, prepare, and relax. Most black guys are better suited for high octane stuff.
But the above said, black guys who can throw, pitch, run fast, catch and hit are more than welcome in baseball. Step right up, sit right down, and relax. As for management, it is becoming more and more a matter of guys looking at data, statistics and computer programs figuring percentages. Black geeks should get into it.
So what happened? MLB got up to 25% black, decided that was too much (I don’t know, maybe they got sick of having to hear all that jive talk), and then got together in a smoke-filled room and CONSPIRED to send them back to the plantation.
RIGHT.
How is this any different than what the Atlanta team owner recently revealed about low white audience attendance (and programming aimed at black audiences like hip hop and gospel acts for after game concerts)?
I was under the impression that players/managers in professional sports were hired on the basis of talent.....
So what. Neither is opera.
So, a little affirmative action is the ticket? Perhaps race preferences are doing more harm than good across the board. For those who insist on pushing failure and expecting the same results are living in a fantasy land on the unicorn farm.
Where has McClendon been?
Black sportscasters in LA routinely acknowledge that blacks prefer basketball these days. One factor is money, which is much higher in basketball.

I,for one,am absolutely willing to assume that he NBA is a true meritocracy when it comes to both players' rosters *and* coaches.And as such I'm not gonna criticize the NBA for being 80-90% black.Assuming that MLB is also a true meritocracy why is this story even being released?
It’s almost like baseball players generally need less raw physical athletic ability than is generally required in sports where blacks tend to be more disproportionately represented.
