This one probably wouldn’t survive long in the wild. It wouldn’t be able to join a pride and it seems it’s fairly ‘tamed’.
Aw, that was really cute!
You are an extremely perceptive person.
Colombia has hippos too because of that
We have one living in the White Hut.
I had a friend who had four beautiful, tame domestic cats. She let them roam around outside because of their “free spirits.” When the coyotes reduced her family to two beautiful cats, she started keeping them indoors.
Boy, I hope nobody decides to sneak hippos into the Tennessee River. Goodbye, Darryl Worley’s River Run.
I think the Tennessee River is too fast and deep for hippos, and the general climate doesn’t suit them. However, they are flourishing in Colombia, with some indications that it’s an absolutely ideal ecosystem for them.
Very deceptive headline...very deceptive story. That was a 1,000 pound killer playing with his food.
I agree with you. She found an African Lion in the forest of Colombia? And five years went by before she paid him a visit?
I smell a hoax.
That is truly amazing. It’s a shame, though, that someone put that awful singing to the vid.
Yes, I suppose you are right. Poor thing.
When in Africa I watched a couple of female lions take down a water buffalo and when they had done their work the male lion sauntered over for his meal. Pretty interesting - the law of the jungle.
among lions the females do the hunting....but this one might have trouble rounding up agreeable females since he isn’t from da ‘hood.
Call of the Wild?
Way kool Silentgypsy
Good job
Call of the ear haters, IMO.
I found another clip of the vid on YouTube. It was part of a clip from a local TV news show in Florida, apparently.
And the story of how the woman came to find the lion is that she runs a rescue and he had come from a circus. At least, that is according to someone’s blog. Makes more sense than the picturing her traipsing along in the forests of SA and tripping over him.
Brave or foolish?
Remember Christian, the lion? Raised in England by two guys and then taken to Africa - when the two guys went to Africa a few years later to see him Christian ran up and acted like a big dog who hadn’t seen his master for a while. An amazing video.
Yes, that was an amazing video. This one made me think of it.
Hippos are really scarey! I’ll continue to hang with my 400 lb. black bears, my coyotes, my wild pit bulls and whatever else populates the neighborhood. (Including me hohoho!)
Still interesting....
