If millennials are jerks, blame the baby boomers
Yahoo ^ | September 2, 2014 | Rick Newman

Many problems with kids can be traced to their parents. So why have millennials been singled out as a uniquely depraved generation? Weren’t they raised by somebody?

For those who may have missed the latest skirmish in America’s generational warfare, a new survey by marketing firm DDB finds millennials — those between 19 and 34 years old, more or less — may be more venal and self-aggrandizing than older folks. They’re more likely to consider themselves workaholics — even with a work ethic their elders find lacking — and a scandalous 27% of millennials say they’d take credit for a colleague’s work if it helped them get ahead. Just 15% of Generation Xers and 5% of baby boomers say they’d do that.

The only thing a Generation Xer like me can do is enjoy the decline. Between the Boomers who are like locusts and their Millenial progeny we are doomed.

Are any of these 19-35 year olds out of the house working or are they still fantasizing about HOPE and CHANGE.

Talk about the sins of our Fathers, we can just keep blaming our succeeding generations and then our preceding generations all the way back to Cain and Able.

Every Generation Blames the one before, and thinks the one's coming up next is going to screw it up even more.

So do Baby Boomers get to blame the “Greatest “Generation”?

Perfect illustration of a Gen X whine.

Another "Blame the Boomer" thread...yawn.

While you're at it, you could at least say "thanks" for putting Reagan in the White House, and ending the Cold War.

These articles pointing intergeneration fingers are complete counterproductive crap.

Every generation has its share of slugs, whiners and parasites. Period.

Its easy to identify the whiners - they're the ones pointing their fingers.

Or if they are not? Then their parents can take the credit for those high-achieving kids in their 20s.

I’m a Boomer and I think the article is on-target.
If Millenials are naïve, unmotivated, lazy, and ignorant of American history and traditions, it’s because we’ve utterly failed in our mission to teach them good values.

The media and public schools have certainly done their part as well.

So, when do us Gen X'ers get "blamed" for being enablers by actually paying all the taxes to the generations before and after us can live a supine, leisurely life of entitlement?

I know am not the only Gen Xer that is pretty sure that in 20 years when it is "retirement time" there will be no Ponzi-scheme money left to draw from... Hell, the republic probably won't last another 20 months, let alone years.

LOL.

So if boomers made millenials bad, does that mean the Greatest Generation (those who raised the boomers) made us boomers bad.

And who made the greatest generation bad?

This stuff is just stupid.

Here is my theory.

When society reinforced good values, parents got lazy and bad habits were carried on.

It not that 1930’s parents were that great, its just that they didn’t have to be that good for their children to have values. Still, there were plenty of kids that turned out crappy.

In today’s world, it is all up to the parent if you want to raise a moral child.

That what I am saying.

Your Parents thought your generation was going to destroy this country.

As did their Parents

and their Parents before them

and their Parents before them.....

Sure, why not? It seems that the Blame Game coincides with the the widespread affluence among all classes of people, and that started after WW2. America’s poorest citizens today still live better than most the Middle class of Europe. I never heard my parents (Mom is 93 and Dad is gone now) criticize their parents’ generation as there was true suffering (by our standards) back then, but it was widespread - people were thinner because there wasn’t that much food to eat compared with today. Houses were cold because heating them cost money. Many were first and second generation immigrants from the 1860-1890s and no one expected anything from anyone other than through their own initiative. I’m a first wave Boomer at 67, but this group also includes people 50 years old. Lots of variance in that big Transitional Cohort from widespread poverty to widespread affluence and back again in the Cycle of Life.

You illustrated in one sentence everything that’s wrong with your generation.

You’re nothing but a bunch of lazy do nothing’s living I’m mommy and daddy’s basement blaming everyone but yourselves for the situation you’re in, and made worse by voting for Obama.

Here’s a free clue: your life only improves when you take ownership of it and stop blaming everyone else for your situation and failures. In short: grow the f*ck up whiner.
