Didn’t the last New Madrid quake ring church bells in Boston? (This was back when Boston had churches, of course.)

There are 292 church parishes in the archdiocese of Boston that covers about 30 miles from Boston. In the city proper itself, there are 45 parish churches.

Good documentary about the New Madrid quakes back in 1811 and 1812.

The quake of 1812 (which was actually a series of 7.0 to 7.5 quakes over a couple days) was felt as far away as New York, so I think it’s possible it could have agitated a few church bells in Boston.
