Heard a tale this weekend that LBJ invited a known drunken member of Congress (from Kentucky?) over for drinks one evening. LBJ drank water while his guest partook of liquor.

By the end of their session, LBJ had enough dirt to strongarm him into “negotiations” for a long time.
