I agree....and though I do cook I'm not very good at it...don't have the patience nor the “natural” understanding of spices etc. so many seem to have. And then you have to learn what works and doesn't...etc.etc.
I remember a woman cooked her steak in some sort of wine and it was fabulous!....so I added Mogan David wine, (given to me after a Jewish Wedding), to a roast beef one night...it was awful!!!!! Terrible tasting I about gagged! Ruined the meat entirely.. LOL!

I think there’s a conspiracy going on at my house. My wife and two teen agers agree that I make the best burgers and fries ever, never mind that my wife makes them the exact same way that I do. They all want me to make the burgers and fries every time we have them.

Sounds to me like you have an extraordinarily clever wife.

At one point in my life during the early 1980's recession getting a job at a Mickey D's would have been great even at minimum wage. Hey it would have been a job and income I didn't have. I needed work. I've dug graves with pick and shovel for minimum wage before. If a person wants more pay in a decent economy then
education & training will likely produce it. It doesn't have to be college. Learn marketable skills. Fast food and stock clerks, cashiers, etc is entry or minimum wage jobs & with a few exceptions always has been.
The worker in charge of making French Fries which are never hot or ready on time for the rest of the orders is likely clueless as to what they are hired for wonders why they aren't the district manager. That's one of the reasons why they aren't in higher food services related paying jobs.

For the protestors I have 1 word (or 2, I can’t remember how they spelled it) BLOCKBUSTER. Remember parting 4 bucks to rent a movie and all the helpers at the store? Now 1 guy fills the redbox and the movie only cost a little over $1.
Like technology coming to a fastfood restaurant near you.

Well, one is owned by an Iranian/American— the Steak & Shake. They have real steakburgers (OK it’s chuck steak) and a great $4 menus (with no drinks— bring your water or cheapo soda in a can). And it is a quality burger that tastes great.
Clean restaurants in general. And. real.milk.shakes.
Choice is clear, and it isn’t as fast food, too.
That and Chik filet.

The people really behind all this just “protested” at the Jackson Hole, WY annual meeting of the Federal Reserve. Janet Yellen met with these little red diaper doper babies. Most of whom are little a-wipe lawyers and people from Occupy. It is all run by this front commie outfit... for the SEIU.
This is a joke played on these dumbos for the greater skim off of the democraps, aka the front org. for the CPUSA.
We’ve gone to real labor reform to organizing the one most price sensitive industry in the country— fast food. The losers— the workers. Cause the franchises will just close down and sell off their real estate.

The foreigners, Muslims and assorted whatever from Ustinkistan are coming in with wheel barrels full of cash.
They’ve been buying up all the greedymarts, hotel chains, and McWhopper franchises for years.
These guys wouldn’t know a labor law from a cowflop shake and could care less anyway...

True. But Steak and Shake is not bad. Their quality is pretty darn good for the times. Nothing like the original Indiana American owned company.
I see your point. This dude is a so called “venture” investor who took over from the BOD of Steak and Shake. He is a Catholic Iranian/American, so there is that.
And not Valerie Jarrett, so far. Like that ustinkistan.
